Miata Madness bound for Jefferson
A new tradition is set to begin in downtown Jefferson next weekend.
Texas Bigfoot Conference founder Craig Woolheater is changing lanes and looking to launch a brand new annual event in downtown Jefferson— the March Miata Madness.
The Texas Miata Roundup has been hosted in alternating cites across Texas, but like many other events, festivities have been on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is back on track and set for next week in Jefferson.
It could play host to 40 – 45 Mazda Miatas on East Austin Street in downtown Jefferson.
It is set from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on March 27.
The “Show and Shine” event open to the public.
Judging and awards will follow the public viewing time.
The Mazda Miata falls into four generations of models.
The first generation running from cars made in 1990-1997.
The second generation includes models from 1999-2005.
The third generation is 2006-2015.
The fourth generation is models from 2016 to present.
Awards will be given to the top car in each of the four generations.
Best in Show will also be named.
The event promises to bring Miata owners from across the state of Texas and places beyond.
The historic Jefferson Hotel will serve as host hotel for the weekend.
Drives are planned to Lake O’ the Pines and up U.S. 59.
Dinner will include two sessions at Riverport Barbecue.
