The Friends Board of the Jefferson Carnegie Library hosted their End-of-Year Get-Together and Business meeting on September 16.

It is a yearly event hosted by the Friends Board to thank their membership and supporters of the library. It is also the time when a check is presented to the library from the fundraising efforts of the year.

For 2021, the Board presented a check to the library for $30,000.

A third of that amount is from membership dues and the remaining is from the successful Spring Golf Tournament and two Cake and Pie Auctions held during the

year.

Additionally, the present board was voted on to remain in place for the 2022 year with the addition of Lorrie Minter being voted in as our newest board member.

“A huge ‘thank you’ to the members and supporters of the library,” said board president Stacy Mills. “We couldn’t do it without you. We look forward to planning another year of fun activities/ events for the community. Our first author visit of the year is September 28 at 6:30 p.m. We will welcome Tamra Bolton who wrote ‘The Blessed Life, A WWII Seabee’s Story.’ This is a free event. Refreshments will be served.”

The first fundraising event for 2022 kicks off on November 6 with Barbecue and Bingo Night. Raffle items, game prizes, give-aways and Riverport Barbecue will help make this evening event fun for all. Tickets are $30/ each (includes dinner and 10 games of Bingo).

“More information will be coming in the n the near future,” Mills said.
