The next Jefferson Historical Museum Quarterly Lecture program is set for Thursday evening, October 21, for what is sure to be an interesting time.
Leah Cooper will present the program “The Women’s Suffrage Movement in Texas.” This coincides with a traveling exhibition that will be at the museum this month on the same topic.
The traveling suffrage exhibition “Citizens at Last: The Women’s Suffrage Movement in Texas” is located in the gallery of the museum, where the program will also take place. It is sponsored by the Jefferson Historical Museum and Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the Nation Endowment for the Humanities.
An overview of the women’s suffrage movement in the Lone Star State is told in fourteen panels of information.
There is no charge for the program, and the second floor gallery is easily accessible by elevator.
A wine and cheese reception begins at 6pm, and the program will start at 6:30 p.m.. The talk will last 30~45 minutes. The public is invited.
