Weekend Music
• Casey Martin will be performing at Auntie Skinner’s Riverboat Club starting at 9 p.m. Saturday.
• Jim Taylor will be performing from 4-7p Saturday at Enoch’s Wine Cellar and Coffee House. Admission is Free, but seating is limited.
Mims building renovated
You are cordially invited to our open house at the Mims VFD
Community Center located at 12728 FM 729 Avinger, Texas to help celebrate the completion of our building’s renovation
Come and go between the hours of 12-4 p.m. Saturday January 29. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Community center was refreshed to better serve our friends and neighbors of the Mims and surrounding communities to have a place to plan their special events.
Start planning 2022 and beyond those special times like weddings receptions, birthday milestones, anniversary, family reunions and all types of community meetings.
APL in Jefferson
Animal Protection League will be in Jefferson on Monday, January 31, from 10-3. Low cost vaccines and medications are available. Spay and neuter appointments are available by calling 903-753-7387.
Let’s Play Ball
Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball is currently holding signups to play this year. They will be having in-person registration at the Jefferson Junior High School during the Little League Basketball games from 9a-4p tomorrow, Saturday, January 29.
COVID Testing, Vaccines Available
Jefferson’s Amazing Hearts Homecare and Staffing LLC is able to provide both COVID-19 testing and vaccinations available to companies and individuals. Testing can be done at workplaces or other locations by appointment. Both Rapid Testing (15 Minutes) or PCR Testing (48-72 hours) are available. Groups of 50 are required to setup vaccination clinics. Testing and vaccines are available for both those with and without insurance. For more information or to schedule, call 903-742-4139.
JAAC to Meet
The regular meeting of the Jefferson Adopt-A-Cop will be at 5:30 p.m. February 9, at the Historic Jefferson Railway Depot. Everyone interested in participating in helping provide support for our officers is invited to attend.
Chili Wednesday
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Ladies’ Altar Society is holding their Chili Wednesday from 11:30-1:30 on February 9 at the Parish Hall. $10 donation is requested and it will be Take Out only.
