Extended Warranty Scam Making the Rounds

The Jimplecute was advised today of a scam that is circulating in the area.

The scam comes via USPS in a first class postage and envelope so it looks legit from the outside.

Inside there’s a statement which has a photo of ones house or property, various information about the home and indicates the owner should call right away to e sure uninterrupted coverage.

However, it is a scam to get owners to purchase “mechanical coverage” on their home.

Be safe and be careful. One should only purchase coverage from their insurance carrier, or the dealer when replacing mechanical systems like air conditioners, etc. Centerpoint energy offers a home warranty coverage for various gas, or water systems in a home.
