Staff Report

The Marion County Commissioners Court worked through a brief agenda Monday morning in regular session at the Courthouse Annex.

Namely, Commissioners okayed County Sheriff David Capps to enter the annual Lake Patrol agreement with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

The agreement dictates that Marion County provides law enforcement presence on Lake O’ the Pines. The only change to the annual contract is a reduction in the number of officers provided – it was reduced from two to one officer.

In other action, commissioners:

• Approved payroll from May 1-15, 2022, and May 16-31, 2022.

• Approved the county to request Unclaimed Property Capital Credits for Counties from the State Comptroller.

• Okayed a resolution authorizing planning and management service providers to assist with grant application through GDBG-MIT and update of Marion County HMAP.

Commissioners also unanimously approved consent agenda items including:

• Approval of minutes from their May 31, 2022, meeting.

• Examine all accounts and reports relating to finances of the County.

• Audit and settle all accounts against County and direct their payment.

Commissioners for Pct. 3 Ralph Meisenheimer and Pct.  2 Jacob Pattison were absent during the meeting as they were attending training classes.
