Meet the Bulldogs
JHS will hold “Meet the Bulldogs” starting at 6:30p today at the High School Gym. Come out and see your 2022-23 Bulldog Athletes, Band, Cheerleaders, and Strutters. This will also be the last opportunity to get an ad in the 2022 Football Program benefitting the Jefferson Athletic Booster Club.
Anniversary

To celebrate their one year anniversary on August 20th and to show their appreciation for your overwhelming support over the last year, we will be offering CHILD ADMISSION PRICES to everyone young & old. That’s right, just $12 per person!! Of course kids 3 & under & season pass holders will continue to get in for free. To add to the excitement ,KKYR 102.5 will be here for a live radio broadcast from 10am to 12pm.
Pancake Supper
Woodlawn VFD ESD6 is hosting a Pancake Supper from 5-7p Saturday at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 8688 US Hwy 59N, to benefit Randy Allen and family. Randy was involved in a home accident on July 28th and suffered multiple injuries. Randy is recovering at home, will need rehab and be off work for an extended period of time.
Cost is $10 per person with all you can eat pancakes, sausage, bacon, orange juice, milk and coffee.
COVID Panel
St. Paul UMC and UT-Tyler Fisch College of Pharmacy will hold a COVID-19 Education and Awareness Panel from 12:30-4p August 20. Come join the discussion with healthcare professionals about the fears and doubts of COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccines and Boosters will be provided for free. Appointments are not required.
APL
APL will be in Jefferson from 10-2p on Monday, August 22, at the corner of Henderson and Polk streets. Spay and neuter services are available by advance appointment as well as low cost vaccinations. APL can be reached at 903-440-4911
Community Update
Jefferson’s Ward 2 Alderman Will Thomas will hold a “Community Update Brief” at 6 p.m. Monday, August 22, at the Community Center, 501 N. Haywood. Thomas said he’s providing information and updates on specific issues curently being worked on in the community. The event is free and open to the public.
Police Reporting
The Jefferson Police Department is excited to announce the release of their online Anonymous Incident Report Form. This will allow the citizens of Jefferson to report an incident to the department, by filling out a quick questionnaire. The form will be electronically sent to the department and officers will be notified immediately. After filling out the form, you may choose to leave your name and phone number if you wish to be contacted. We hope this allows us to better serve our community!

Ag Program
Marion and Cass County AgriLife and Prairie View Extension will be hosting a Cattle Herd and Pasture Management During Drought Program with is good for one free CEU, from 2:30-5p August 23 at the Kellyville Community Center; 130 Kelly Park Rd, Jefferson, TX 75657. Topics Covered include Hay and Supplementing Cow-Calf Herds During Drought by Dr Jason Banta, and Preventing Cool Season Weeds by Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Olson. JISD will hold one more opportunity to be a Substitute Teacher this fall at 9 a.m. August 30 at the Administration building.
Run for the Prize
Diamond Don Event Center has a great Church Service planned during DDMX 20th on September 11. Steve Wise and the Gospel Girls will headline the event at 7:30 AM in the Pavilion. Please plan to attend. Open to the public, so Jeffersonians, please come out and join us. Coffee, water and donuts will be served.
