They newly reformed Jefferson Planning and Zoning Commission held their first meeting in five years Tuesday night prior to the regular meeting of the City Council.
The P&Z meeting was chaired by Mayor Rob Baker who explained he was there long enough for the board to elect officers.
“Going forward, we are here for support but your chairman will be the one in charge of officiating meetings,” Baker said.
After receiving a copy of the minutes from the last meeting held, in 2017, and a proposed Zoning Ordinances document from 2017 to review, the board elected officers.
The commission selected as Chairman Laura Omer, Vice Chair Cindy Pinkerton, and voted to delay selecting a Secretary until all members could be present.
Other board members include Kim Shaw, Mike Watts, Margie Smith, Hugh Lewis and Tommy Engle.
The group is scheduled to meet again at 5:30 p.m. November 10.
