Graveside services for Walter Alexander Nichols 84 of Jefferson, Texas will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at Kildare Cemetery in Kildare, Texas.
Walter A. Nichols “Jack” 84 years old formerly of Toledo, Ohio and longtime resident of Jefferson, Texas passed away November 28, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side. Walter was born to Earl Nichols and Alice Prarie Nichols on June 7, 1938 in Adrian, Michigan both preceding him in death. Walter is also preceded in death by his long time companion Faye Allen of 20 years; two sisters, Colleen and Betty Jean and granddaughter, Jennifer Nichols .
Walter joined the United States Army and served his country proudly on January 3, 1956 and was discharged on October 2, 1961. He then served in The National Guard until he was discharged in March of 1976.
Walter was a hard worker. He also loved working in his garden, fishing, traveling, cooking on his grill and family parties. He also had a love for woodworking, listening to old time country music and animals. Dogs were definitely his best friends. His favorite TV idol was John Wayne.
Left to survive are his five children, Timothy Nichols, Marcy Ard, Penny Timmons and Vern, Mary Stuard and Keith, Joanne Bradshaw and Amy; brother, Elias Nichols; sister, Edith Rising; twelve grandchildren, thirty- four great grandchildren, seven great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
