Marion County Commissioners to close out year

Marion County Commissioners will hold their last meeting of 2022 at 9 a.m. Friday when they will wrap up the County’s business.

Items on the agenda include accepting Special Budget revenue from the U.S. Treasury LATCF funds in the amount of $92,974.20 and then designating those funds to be used the Jail/Annex project.

Commissioners will also approve a resolution authorizing the use of $957,012 from the second tranche FY2021 American Recovery Plan Act to be used on the Jail/Annex improvement project.

They will also set the salary ranges and mileage reimbursements for 2023.  They

They will enter into the minutes the District Judge’s appointment order for a County Auditor and 10 hours of investment training for the auditor.

The County’s Employee Handbook will also be approved for 2023.

The Annual Interlocal Agreement with the City of Jefferson and the 2023 Non-Departmental Contracts for Services will be considered.

Other items on the agenda include:

– Petty cash of $100 for County Judge’s Administrative Assitant

– $300 added fee for Marion County Culvert Applications

– Approval of a bond for Shasta Hickman, Clerk for JP 1

– Settling all accounts and reports related to county finances.

Commissioners will also meet at 9 a.m. January 3 in the Marion County Courthouse to swear in officials elected in the November elections and approval of their associated bonds.

Those taking office or having bonds approved include: Marion County Judge Leward J. LaFleur, Commissioner Precinct 2 Jacob Pattison, Commissioner Precinct 4 Gered R. Lee, County Clerk Kimberly Wise, District Clerk Susan Anderson, County Treasurer Billie Jo Westbrook, Justice of The Peace Precinct 1 Jan Weesner, and Justice of The Peace Precinct 2 Alan Biddy.
