The Jimplecute reaffirms our committment to you

Jock Lauterer, the director of the Carolina Community Media Project, defines a “community newspaper” as a newspaper that serves a specific location with a circulation of 50,000 or less.

The Jefferson Jimplecute  proudly fits this criteria and serving our community is something we take very seriously.

Community newspapers specialize in community issues. Community newspapers deliver valuable information upon which you can trust and depend.

Responsible community newspapers are not blogs.

They are not social media pages who track gossip.

Community newspapers staff, train and encourage community journalists to pursue the best interests of the communities we serve.

Community newspapers help grow local business. Community newspaper are representation of the community.

These are all things The Jimplecute has taken to heart since the 1848. As we look out on an exciting future in East Texas, The Jimplecute reaffirms our commitment to serving the community to the best of our abilities.

We know, wholeheartedly, the newspaper does not determine who is successful, and how.

Rather, the community determines the success of the newspaper.

As we end a busy first month of the new year and gear up for a busy spring, allow us to express our thanks to you – our readers, community leaders and business partners. It is you who determine the newspaper’s success and we are humbled by your continued support.

Furthermore, we are interested in your input and submissions. If you see something noteworthy in the community, let us know.

Most of us walk around with a camera in our pocket. Most of these camera devices are attached to an email account as well.

So, take a picture and send it our way.

We are passionate about telling the stories of Marion County. If you know of a great story, please let us know. We will follow up.

If you know of a business who could benefit from marketing in the newspaper, please let us know. We will follow up.

What do you like? What do you dislike? What are we doing great? What do we need to improve?
