James was born on July 28, 1932, in Jefferson, to Austin Grubbs and Margie Dee Ponder Grubbs and passed away on March 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Grubbs served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was an Oil and Gas man through and through and worked in the industry for over 60 years.
While he made oil and gas a career, he had a passion for the cattle industry and loved his cows. He enjoyed his church, and has been a member of Prospect Baptist Church for over 80 years. His greatest love though, was being a devoted husband of 68 years and a Father.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard, and Joe Grubbs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Jean Belote Grubbs; children, Wayne Grubbs, Jeff Grubbs and wife Betty; sister-in-law, Annie Mae Grubbs; grandchildren, Justin Grubbs and wife Taylor, Anna Grubbs, and Joshua Grubbs. He is also survived by numerous other extended family and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Carey B. Heaster, Jr., Mike Wood, Ricky Cooner, Kent Thigpen, Bobby Fyffe, and Don Preston. Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Clemens and Earnest Bradshaw.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Prospect Cemetery.
