Spring is in the air. The days are getting longer, and all seasons are shifting to the diamond.
As such, it’s time for opening day of the Jefferson Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball Association.
An all-day event is set to mark the occasion Saturday, April 8 at Kellyville Park in Jefferson.
Festivities include a Home Run Derby, 50/50 Raffle, drawings and team pictures will be taken of all Jefferson teams.
The opening ceremony will start at 9 a.m. with the introduction of teams.
The Home Run Derby will start at 10:30 a.m.
Team pictures will start at 11:45 a.m.
First pitch is also set for 11:45 a.m. Games will start at 12:30 p.m. and run all afternoon.
Concessions will be available.
