Marion County Commissioners approved the proposed 2024 Marion Central Appraisal District budget following Chief Appraiser Ann Lummus providing some clarification on increases in professional fees and mass mailing budget line items.

Lummus said the increases were largely due to the number of mailings required by the Legislature as well as an increase in postage later this summer. She also said the professional fees increase included not only attorney fees, but software, and other professional service fees.

Commissioners appointed Ralph Meisenheimer and Leward LaFleur to the East Texas Housing Finance Corporation Board of Directors for a six year term. LaFleur is currently on the Board and Meisenhemer is replace J.R. Ashley.

In other business, Commissioners approved the May payroll, renewed a contract for three more years with Avenue Enterprise Solutions LLC for Application Hosting Technology Support Services.

The Court also changed the date of the July 17 Budget meeting to July 14 due to a conference conflict.
