The temperatures are rising and soon we will be having 100 degree days.  What better way to spend a long, hot summer afternoon than curled up with a good book.  We’ve got them for you at the library! Books galore for all ages.  The variety of genres is endless.  Come take a look for yourself and check out several.  If you don’t have a library card, it’s easy to get one and they are free! Simply fill out the required paperwork while you are visiting the library and our wonderful library team will get you set up and ready to take home your picks.  Books are easy to return, too.  A book drop is provided at the front entrance for after hour drop-off, if you can’t get back inside before the due date.  Are you in the mood to watch movies?  We’ve got shelves loaded with movies for check-out.  Re-visit some of your movies from the past or check out more recent ones.  Whatever your choice, books and/or movies, the library is the place to get just what you want.

Join in the fun at Otstott Park on the 4th of July.  The library will be hosting our annual Cake and Pie Auction which is always a fun event.  Jefferson’s best bakers provide their favorite treats for auction.  If you have never experienced this yearly event, plan to come this year. All proceeds from the Cake and Pie Auction benefit the library.  Fireworks, patriotic music, a duck race, ice cream auction, and children’s parade are some of the events included in this family fun-filled day of celebration organized by Jefferson’s Krewe of Hebe.  We hope to see you there!

Enjoy your summer and remember that the Jefferson Carnegie Library’s hours are Monday – Friday from 10a-5p and Saturday from 10a-3p. Happy reading!
