Jefferson Rotarians honored senior Kristen Thomas this week as the Rotary Student of the Month. Kristen is a born leader and always strives to do her very best. She has excelled in volleyball and basketball since her Freshman year and has always been a starter, was chosen as student athlete of the year her junior year, she was named Offensive MVP and was selected to the 1st team District Volleyball. Kristen was chosen to represent her class for homecoming; she is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans to attend college and become a Physical Therapist. Shown with Kristen is Melissa Watson, Assistant Principal at JHS, and Kathy Whitfield, Club President.
Rotarians sign up new members for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library during National Night Out earlier this month. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides books to children to encourage reading and literacy.
The Jefferson Rotary Club received the Rotary Citation Award for completing the required goals set out by the District during the Rotary District 5830 Conference in Athens, Texas, and hosted by the Athens Rotary Club last Saturday. This conference was held for the outgoing year 2022-23 under District 5830 Governor Carolyn Franks. .The award was under the Presidential year of Toni Woods.
