Jefferson’s Opera House Theatre Players is bringing back one of the most popular seasonal shows ever done, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, on December 15 and 16 in the Union Baptist Church Event Center.
The show is a radio script rendition of the traditionally loved film of the 1940s.
According to theatre board members, the initial presentation by the theatre was done during last years Christmas period and was so wonderfully received that it was chosen to be presented again this year.
A unique location will be an added attraction for the “radio” play in that it will be performed in the historic, old Union Baptist Church on Houston Street which was completely restored a few years ago by the Collins Foundation to be used as an event center for locals. The interior of the building still features the numerous wooden pews that were there originally along with tall windows and beautifully reclaimed wood floors, all of which enhance the acoustics of the large building.
The Players have performed several musicals and play within the building in the last few years.
Tickets for the performances are on sale now at The Willow Tree or by gong online to http://www.JeffersonOperaHouseTheatrePlayers.com Cost is $15 per person and due to limited seating it is suggested that early purchases should be made.
