Homer Fred Hogle, Sr. of Jefferson, Texas, beloved husband, and father, passed away on November 1, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 30, 1944, in Potsdam, New York to Homer A. Hogle and Cecile Lamica Hogle. After graduating high school, he married his wife, Helen, in Tully, New York. In 1970 they moved to Texas. He worked several years in the paper industry but found his true calling in long haul truck driving. He told trucking stories as long as he had listeners, and he loved to laugh. In 1989 the couple returned to their farming roots and moved from Dallas to a rural area outside of Jefferson, Texas, clearing land and creating a farm where they raised pigs, cattle, rabbits, and chickens. He relished this farm for its beauty and serenity and enjoyed the calming nature of the farm. Before his health declined, he enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, being surrounded by friends and family, eating, swapping stories, and wearing silly hats. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Helen, son (Homer) Fred Hogle, Jr (Becky) of Texas, daughter Veronica Ford of Idaho, son Rev. Wade Hogle (Jayne) of Washington, son Jason Hogle of Texas, and son Wyatt Hogle of Texas, and grandchildren; Michael, Adam, Will, Courtney, Joe, Ben, and even some great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: Doug Hogle of New York, Sharon Hogle of New York, Ronnie Hogle of New York, Roger Hogle (Terry) of Texas and Eunice Blocksdorf (Gary) of New York as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Homer loved God, his family and life. He was a member of Hartoz Pentecostal Church in Gray, Texas for many years. He would not wish us to mourn, but celebrate his life and share his love for laughter.
