Lady Dawgs topple Yellowjackets 64-37, boys 47-40

The Lady Bulldogs pushed its district record to 2-1 after beating Elysian Fields 64-37 on Dec. 19.

It was over before it started as Jefferson rolled out to a 16-5 lead after quarter one and had a commanding 36-12 lead at halftime.

Taurria Hood went off for 23 points, Kristen Thomas added 19 points with seven rebounds, Jordyn Davidson posted seven points with eight assists and 12 steals, Keinysa Wallace had five points and Keyasia Black had four points with seven steals.

Jefferson 41  Troup 36

The Lady Bulldogs were locked in a tight battle with district foe Troup on Dec. 15. The game went into overtime where Jefferson prevailed 41-36.

Both teams were tied at 7-7 coming out of frame one and the Lady Tigers had a slight 16-14 lead at the break.

The Lady Bulldogs pulled out a 13-11 run in the third stanza to tie things up at 27-all. Both teams scored eight points in the fourth quarter which sent the game into OT with the score knotted up at 35-35.

A 6-1 run in OT sealed the win for Jefferson.

Kristen Thomas recorded another double-double as she racked up 19 points with 12 rebounds, Taurria Hood had eight points with five boards and Jordyn Davidson added eight points with five steals.
