Letter: Final word before Election Day

Dear Editor:

Election Day is March 5, 2024.  Polls will be open from 7am until 7pm.  This is the day that our campaigns have worked towards for several months.

Our final words before tomorrow’s election:

Since December when we announced our candidacy for Marion County Republican Chair and Marion County Republican Precinct 1 Chair, we kept the race focused on what our county GOP needs.  That need is a plan that is clear and attainable for our local GOP to be successful and effective.

We are the only candidates since Day One that have outlined a plan for the Marion County Republican Party.  This party office requires someone to be locally engaged and locally available for voters.  It requires someone to know Texas Election Code inside and out, and someone that has the experience working in the political sphere.  We are the candidates that fulfill these requirements.

For us, this race was not about title, prestige, or accolades.  We entered this race because we care about all of you and we have seen what happens when everyone gets involved in our political process.

The result is an engaged voter base that makes better decisions for their families, community, state, and nation.

Marion County is at a critical crossroads.  We are the smallest, and poorest county in the state of Texas.  We must leverage all of the political capital that we can as a county as we move into the future.

The County Chair must have the ability to work with the state party and elected officials, from the local to the federal level, in order to maximize our political capital.  I have working relationships with existing party officials as well as our elected officials at all of these levels.  I will continue working to strengthen those relationships.

One of the most important things we learned on this campaign, while speaking with voters on their front porches, is that you all want elected officials to “get stuff done.”  What you are not interested in is political infighting.  You are fully aware that we are not going to agree 100% of the time, but if we can agree 80% of the time, then “work it out.”  Results are the desired goal.  We are results oriented candidates.

On March 5, 2024 (Super Tuesday) we humbly ask you to vote for the Bonners.

We are here as a team to come together to work towards a mutual goal. Marion County let’s do this together!

Sincerely,

Hunter Bonner – Candidate – Marion County Republican Chair

Lynnette Bonner – Candidate – Marion County Republican Precinct 1 Chair
