Auntie Skinners serves as a staple for the community. Owned By Stan and Michelle Davis, the couple has brought a family welcoming to a popular spot in town.

Auntie Skinner was originally opened by Joe and Louis Muller, naming the restaurant after the old Dixie Land song “Auntie Skinner’s Chicken Dinner.” The building was built in 1866 as a warehouse in Jefferson’s Riverfront District.

The building has been home to offices, a drug store, and a saloon. The building still stands and is one of the few remaining that has never been modernized. The building holds value in its historic looks and continues to serve the community.

Auntie Skinners, who currently resides in the building, supports its community with tasty food and live entertainment on the weekends. Along with that, they support community events throughout the year, one being the recent Mardi Gras upriver event.

Next week Auntie Skinners will support the Outlaw national car show, where a sea of classic cars lines up and show off their retro looks. They are involved in numerous events like the East Texas Burn run and the Jefferson Candlelight tour, where people come to gather in the town and enjoy what Jefferson has to offer.

Auntie Skinner’s has several items on their menu, serving as a scratch kitchen, where you can get about any type of food you want. Some of the more interesting items include their BBQ Queso burger, Pulled Pork Tacos, and Muffaletta. If you want to stay simple, Auntie Skinner’s has homestyle cooking meals that are sure to hit home.

Just looking to get out on the town and enjoy the night? Auntie Skinner’s host’s live entertainment on Saturday’s and karaoke on Fridays. Upcoming live shows include Dusty Rose on May 4,Teazure on May 11, Rewind Band on May 18, and Loosey Anna Band & The Arkla-Tex on May 25.

They also offer line dancing on Thursday nights with free lessons.
