Steve McDonald, age 68, of Jefferson, Texas, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at his residence. Steve was born February 8, 1956, in Marshall, Texas, to Harry Sr. and Earline McDonald. He was retired from Jefferson Independent School District; and was a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his cats, and helping in his community.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Toni McDonald; two brothers, Charles W. McDonald, Edward R. McDonald; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Stephen McDonald Jr. and wife Carri of Jefferson, Texas, Stephanie McDonald of Jefferson, Texas; brother, Dr. Harry McDonald and wife Suzanne of Toccoa, Georgia; sister, Stella Smith and husband Jack of Jefferson, Texas; grandchildren, Chevelle McDonald, Wyatt Sawyer, Aiden McDonald, Treyson Gibson, Austin McDonald; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were 2 pm, Monday, April 29, 2024, at First Methodist Church, Jefferson, with T.C. Williams officiating, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
Visitation was Sunday, April 28 from 3-5 pm at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
