Jefferson is full of so much history and the more you dig, the more you find. 1852 on Austin is fairly new to Jefferson but the location is rooted in the concrete. The building was constructed in 1852 for shippers Patton, Henderson and company, and is where the restaurant calls home.

Dave Echols and Mickey Morrison found themselves in a friendship that would last many years and the stories to go along with it. Both were musicians and bonded over their love for guitars and music.

They developed the idea in Colorado in 2016 to open a restaurant and venue. Their “go with the flow” attitude landed them in Jefferson after finding the Old Founders Bank and Mercantile Building.

1852 on Austin has an “old dinner club” tradition to it and offers great customer service. Open Wednesday through Sunday, it has a variety of menu items serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Each menu has its own touch to it, with appetizers like boudin egg rolls, calamari fritti and chicken fried Brussels sprouts, 1852 is a finer option than most.

Main courses include pork chili verde, lobster ravioli, and your classic cut steaks. 1852 on Austin provides an upscale experience in every way, just ask Executive Chef Eric Welsh.

With an extensive background in Cajun, creole and southern homestyle cooking, Chef Walsh puts his own “spice” to classic dishes.

As 1852 on Austin was started by two musicians you can guarantee their quality of entertainment is never short of professional. They offer entertainment every week and sometimes multiple artists per day.

But they don’t just stop at music, on Fridays 1852 offers stand-up comedy, separating themselves from competition one laugh at a time.

Entertainers have included Chris Cain, Joe Nadeau, Remy Reilly, the Sultans, and Blind Dog Cook.

Jefferson has a lot to offer is residents and guests and 1852 on Austin is the Crème de la crème of them all. With fancy scenery, eats, drinks and entertainment they never fall short of impressing.
