The Jefferson Farmers Market is open and are accepting applications for those wanting to participate. The Cost is $25 for the entire season. They meet from 10a-2p every Saturday in downtown Jefferson just off Austin Street across from the Thomas Jefferson Park. For more information, contact Doug Weir at the County AgriLife Extension Office, 903-665-2421.
Pancakes!
The Jefferson Masonic Lodge #38 will hold a Pancake Breakfast with the Big Cypress Corvette Club from 7-10a June 1 at the Thomas Jefferson Park on Austin Street. A donation of $8 per place is appreciated.
VFW Fish Fry
The Jefferson chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will NOT host their monthly First Saturday Fish Fry this weekend. The Post indicated a lack of volunteers, and the recent loss of their Auxiliary Post have made it impossible to hold at this time.
Summer Reading
The Jefferson Carnegie Library will have their “Adventures in the Library” Summer Reading program form 10-11a every Wednesday in June and July.
Bees
Honeybees are out in full swarm now that summer is almost here. If you have bees, don’t call an exterminator. Instead, call Stanford Brantley at 903-742-2765 and let him help remove and relocate them.
