Jefferson’s Opera House Theatre Players is looking for some young talent to shine the spotlight on during July.
Jefferson’s Opera House Theatre Players is planning to find enough “little Elvises” for an upcoming presentation near to the July 4th celebration.
The thespian group generally does a musical type performance at this holiday since they organized in 1989 and this year thought they would make this partly a patriotic and partly an Elvis talent show for young people who love to sing Elvis songs.  School age kids from 6-15 are invited to participate in the show that will be presented at the old, historic Union Baptist Church Event Center.
All young people who wish to enter  should be able to sing several Elvis songs in costume and imitate as much of his on-stage persona as they can.  Each will receive a small gift for participating and will be given news media coverage after furnishing publicity shots to theatre director Marcia Thomas.
The show is planned for July 6.
Those interested may call Thomas at 903-665-8243 or reply to JeffersonTheatre@aol.com. Deadline for entries is June 17.
