Caddo Lake by Mark Allen: The fising has been awesome on Caddo Lake the last couple of weeks. The water temperature is in the 60’s and that means the spawn is in high gear for those big bass! A few tips for right now is to concentrate on the many wind protected areas around the lake, as this water will be the warmest. You will also need to fish around as many cypress trees as you can. The majority of the bass on Caddo will spawn on the base of the cypress trees. Your casting skills need to be sharp to be able to put your bait of choice right on the side of the trees to draw those strikes. My baits of choice have been soft plastic baits such as: senko, finesse worm and the fighting frog by Big Bite Baits. We have also starting fishing with a spinnerbait and chatterbait the first thing in the morning to draw a reaction bite.
