Lady Dawgs come up short

The Lady Dawgs softball team came up short against Redwater in the final round of Bi-District playoffs, 8-12.

Friday’s first round play saw Redwater defeating the Dawgs 12-5.

The Lady Dawgs fought back on Saturday’s round two as sophomore Amarriunna Amie (#12) homered in  the 11th inning to win 16-15.

Round three was the clincher however, as Redwater finished off the Dawgs 12-8.

Top leaders for the season included Amie with four home runs, 16 RBIs, seven doubles, and a 0.833 slugging average.

Maddie Cooner led the team  with a 0.477 batting average and 0.553 on base percentage. She had 11 steals, a 0.974 fielding percentage, 26 runs, 31 hits, 19 RBIs, 0.754 slugging percentage, 8 doubles, and 5 triples.

 Karly Long had a 0.468 batting average, 0.492 on base percentage, 13 stolen bases, a 1.0 fielding percentage, 21 runs, 29 hits, 16 RBIs, 0.754 slugging percentage, and one triple.

Chloe Wood rounds out the 2025 season leaders with a 0.426 batting average, 0.5 on base percentage, 5.20 ERA, 17 runs, .656 slugging percentage, and 12 doubles.
