The annual YNOT Awards presented by Jefferson’s community theatre group, the Opera House Theatre Players, has been scheduled for 7p August 9, at the Union Baptist Church Event Building.

Acting awards will be presented to the Best  Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress as well as to the Best Production of t he 37th season.  Voting is by membership only in the Players group that produces only four shows a season with sometimes a “lagniappe” production thrown in as time and resources permit.

This award gathering will be slightly different from those of the past when it was held at a local restaurant with a full meal paid by each of those attending.  This years award event will be completely free of charge with the awards being presented first in the building and those attending being invited to the service building behind where hors’ d’oeuvres, canapés and a beverage will be served to all.

There is no charge to attend and all actors in this season’s productions, their friends and family, are urged to attend to offer support and appreciation for those working with the group that has brought drama and music to the community since July of 1989.

The new season will begin on August 30, which is the Labor Day Weekend, with a special  professional production that will be announced soon.
