Blessings of Grace Food Pantry is changing their Tuesday and Thursday Produce Distribution location starting this week.
Blessings director Elizabeth Opiela explained the change was necessary to better facilitate the distribution and not interfere with ongoing activities at the W.Fred Lockett Education Center.
Blessings has partnered with the Marion County Community Center on Haywood Street to handle these distributions.
MCCC has provided an indoor location for the Tusday and Thursday produce distributions.
“This partnership helps us both,” said MCCC board member Hugh Lewis “The Center can continue it’s mission of serving the community, and Blessings of Grace has a space that is always available regardless of weather.”
Produce distribution begins at 9a Tuesday and Thursday. The new location will start on August 5.
Blessings of Grace monthly Pantry distributions will remain at the Lockett Center.
MCCC is also completing setup for the Congregate Meals program to return to Marion County, which will provide a lunchtime meal to anyone over the age of 60 at no charge. Those under 60, can also get a meal, but at a nominal charge.
That program will run from 10a-2p Monday-Friday and will begin soon.
