Chamber holds get together for tourism

The Marion County Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Roundtable for Local Hosts” last Wednesday in the hopes of improving communication and interest in working together to improve tourism and visitor experiences in Jefferson.

Roughly 20 representatives from area businesses in the lodging, retail, restaurant, and tour operators worked to hear what is available and and brainstorm on ideas for working more closely together and see what they can do to encourage more weekday tourism traffic.

The group plans on continuing to meet and develop and exchange more ideas in the future.
