Marion County has a lot of faults. We’re petty. We hold grudges. We argue until we’re blue in the face, just because. We demand things of our governments and that they are done immediately, and we don’t listen to why they can’t be done right now.
But what Marion County does do exceedingly well, is support each other when one is in need.
When someone passes, or is sick, the community comes together to support and offer help to the family or the individual – regardless of political or religious affiliations.
Now we have the chance to do it again.
Jefferson student and basketball player Avery Lawson was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Devastating for anyone, but especially a child.
The family will be traveling to Dallas over the next months for him to receive treatment.
To help offset some of the travel expenses and medical bills, an account has been set up at First National Bank in Jefferson. The account is under “special account for Avery Lawson”. You can make deposits at any First National Bank location.
Time for us to come together and do what we do best: Support someone in need.
