Rotary Names Students of the Month

Chloe Wood, a Junior at JHS, was chosen as Rotary’s Student of the Month for October. Chloe is the daughter of Jaime and Mike Wood and the granddaughter of Leslie and Mike Wood and Susan and Cliff Shaw. 

Chloe’s passion is Softball. She plays year round and has been playing since she was old enough to swing a bat.  Being on the high school Varsity Softball team, Lady Bulldogs, since her freshman year and has earned her several awards. 

She was named Newcomer of the Year award and Academic All District in 2024. 

Chloe’s dream is to continue to grow as an athlete and play Softball in College. She is planning right now to go into Exercise Science and Wellness once at College. 

Chloe was presented her award at our November 12th meeting. 


November Student of the Month was awarded to Alexander Dorris. He is the son of Jolene and Jacob Dorris and the grandson of  Debra Haley and Bruce Fix.  

Alex is a Junior at Jefferson High School. He is ranked #6 out of 105 students. He is enrolled in honors and Dual credit classes. 

Alex is a member of the Varsity Football team, DECA team and the JHS Bulldog band where he plays the saxophone. 

The band also went to UIL and placed there as well. 

Alex plans to attend college at Texas A&M in Texarkana and study engineering. 

His hobbies include working out, playing video games and spending time with his family.
