Mardi Gras Weekend is quickly approaching, and it is essential that everyone is fully prepared for the events taking place Friday through Sunday, February 6–8, 2026. This weekend brings a significant number of visitors to our town, and your cooperation is critical to ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
We expect all merchants, residents, and downtown property owners to follow the guidelines and timelines provided. Your participation is not only appreciated — it is necessary for maintaining a safe, organized, and enjoyable Mardi Gras Weekend for our community and our guests.
Street Closings for Parades (NO PARKING): Violators will be towed at the Owners expense!
Doo-Dah Parade – Friday, February 6, 2026 – 6:30 PM till the end of Parade:
- Jefferson Street at Lions Park to Henderson
- Henderson Street from Line to Market
- Market Street from Henderson to Austin
- Austin Street from Market to Walnut
ABSOLUTELY NO BEADS, ETC ARE TO BE THROWN FROM BALCONIES OR ROOF TOPS DURING THE PARADES – Stop throwing @ 6:15 P.M!!
Motorcycle & Grand Parade – Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM till the end of the Parade:
- Walnut Street from Bonham to Dallas (This street starts at 8:00 am)
- Bonham, Clarksville, Orleans, Henderson from Polk to Soda
- Lafayette Street from Market to Walnut (Some portion saved for bands loading and unloading)
- Austin from Market to Train Depot (This street starts at 8:00 am)
- Dallas Street from Polk to Walnut (This street starts at 8:00 am)
Motorcycle Parade – Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1:00PM till the end of the Parade:
- Polk Street from Hwy 49 East to South of Bridge
Motorcycle & Grand Parade – Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1:30PM till the end of the Parade

- Polk Street from Hwy 49 to Dallas (This street starts at 1:30pm)
- Bonham, Clarksville, Orleans, Henderson from Polk to Soda
- Lafayette Street from Market to Walnut
- Austin from Market to Walnut
Children’s Parade – Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:30PM till the end of the Parade

- 1. Alleyway (Bateman’s Alley) from Market to Polk – Behind Post Office
- 2. Alleyway from Austin to Lafayette
- 3. Austin Street from Walnut to Market
- 4. Vale Street from Lafayette to Dallas
- 5. Dallas Street from Walnut to Market
- 6. Courthouse Parking Lot
It is understood that any and all emergency vehicles must be allowed to use these streets and alleys if necessary.
