Recycle permits get new process

Staff Reports

Those wanting to recycle in Marion County will have a slightly new process to follow in getting their annual permit.

Recycling permits have been required for some time, but, as they do not require being “punched” each time, it’s hard to see when they expire. Each permit is good for one year, and are on a green-colored card. Users just have to show the card to the attendant to gain access to the recycle bin.

The new process will put the expiration date on the back of the card making it easier to see when used.

Ashley requested a new process at a recent Commissioners Court meeting, but the Court left it up to him to do as he is the only location with a recylce bin.

Permits can be obtained in the County Clerk’s Office in person or by phone and  mailed out for additional fees.
