Tractor Show

This weekend the Jefferson Antique Tractor Show will be in downtown on Saturday.

Outdoorsman

The 3rd Annual Outdoorsman Oasis will start at 5p Sept. 14 at the Jefferson Visitors and Convention Center. Guest speaker is Danny Tesseneer from Gardendale, Ala. The event is free and sponsored by Heritage Baptist Church.

Trade Days

Jefferson Trade Days are this weekend on N. US 59 at the “old truck stop” just past Prospect Road. They are open the 2nd and 4th Friday and Saturday’s of each month from 9a-5p.

Revival

Jefferson First Assembly of God welcomes the Rev. Roger Lewis for Revival Services Sunday September 15 10:45a and 5p.  Everyone is invited to come! 

Free Fitness

Fitness4theWilling is testing two new fitness classes in Jefferson and you can try them for FREE on September 17, 18, and 19. DanceFit4 Class is Tuesday & Thursday at 6p, and Active & Agile Class is Wednesday at 9a. Both classes are at First Methodist Church’s Activity Center. Fitness4theWilling.com

Woofstock

Woofstock, the annual fundraising event for Friends of Jefferson Animals is set for September 20-21 in downtown. Over 50 vendors, musicians and lots of animal support fun!

PAACC

The Pyland African American Cemetery Charter (PAACC) will hold it’s Annual Board of Directors meeting Saturday, September 21, 2024, 11 a.m. at Pyland African American Cemetery.  The Public is welcome. Contact us @ www.thepaacc.org

Spaghetti Dinner

The Excelsior House Hotel is holding their annual Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7:30p September 24 at the hotel. Dinners/To Go is $20 and includes salad, bread, spaghetti, beverage and dessert. Quarts of Spaghetti Sauce are also available for $20.

Cook Out

The Hive is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary with a Cook Out from 4:30-6:30p September 26. There will be raffles, games, treats and other fun along with all the delicious coffee and food you’ve come to love!

Rodeo

The Becca Anderson Memorial Rodeo Queen Pageant is set for September 27-28 and now’s the time to sign up! Applications are now available by contacting Samantha at 940-386-4065 or Susan at 903-930-8920. Autumn in Avinger

Avinger will be celebrating Autumn with their annual Autumn in Avinger festival from 10a-5p September 30 at #7 Main Street Education, Avinger. There will be shopping, food through out the day, and bingo starting at 5:30p.

NNO

National Night Out is right around the corner and this year big changes are in the works to make the event even bigger and better! This year the event will take place starting at 5:30p  on October 1 at W.F. Lockett Stadium. The event relocated to the stadium to allow for better lighting and parking, as well as more participation. If you’d like to setup, contact Billy Ramsey at 903-665-0570, or the Jimplecute at 903-665-2462. Sponsorships are available via donations for drawings, or to support advertising for the event.

Bible Study

Cumberland Presbyterian Church is hosting a weekly bible study every Wednesday night. The evening starts with a 6p supper, and bible study from 6:30-7:30p led by Shane Shaddix. All are welcome. The group is currently starting Book of Hebrews.

Bees

Honeybees are out in full swarm now that summer is almost here. If you have bees, don’t call an exterminator. Instead, call Stanford Brantley at 903-742-2765 and let him help remove and relocate them.

Farmers Market

  • Mims Farmers Market located at 12728 FM 729 North side of Lake O the Pines is back open for the Fall from 9a-Noon. It will stay open every Saturday until October 5.
  • Marion County Farmers Market, located on Austin Street, is open every Saturday through the end of October.
