JPD resolves Wednesday hostage situation

According to a press release from JPD Chief Florentino Perez, JPD, along with other area law enforcement officers, peacefully resolved a hostage situation on Common Street early Wednesday morning.

JPD received reports of shots fired at 900 Common Street and arrived to find a hostage situation. 

They contacted Harrison County Emergency Response Team for assistance and the hostages were released uninjured.

The suspect, Andrew Christopher Campbell, 47, was booked on the following charges: Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon F2; Deadly Conduct Discharge of Firearm F3; Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon F3 and Unlawful Restraint MA.
