Jefferson City Council approved moving $18,000 from City reserves to the Building Updates line item of the Police budget to facilitate the departments relocation during Tuesday night’s Council meeting.

The Police Department is set to move to the city building on North Alley Street this month once work is completed.

“I hope to be in the building by December 1,” said Jefferson PD Sergeant Jason Carroll. “I plan on holding an open house in January, once we’re settled in, so everyone can see the new offices.”

Carroll has coordinated the move.

The largest portion of the expenses on the building are technology upgrades per information provided to Council by Carroll.

Right Click Plus! provided the lowest bid for network drops, phone, and other technology infrastructure installations. The bid was for approximately $9,000.

Other expenses included repairs to the building, labor, and signage.
