This is a new feature we’re trying out. It is a summary list of items we posted to our FaceBook page from 5 p.m. Thursday through 3:30p today. If you like this, please let us know. Sorry, no pics today as I’m running behind.

  • Diamond Don: We took out some trees to make more room for RV’s. Diamond Don RV Park is OPEN. Come out and have some fun. There is a lot to do in Jefferson. Ride the train and see alligators. We have lots of space so you can social distance.
  • Bethel Temple Fellowship opened the Ark at the Ruth Lester Playhouse. Pics and Story and Video are coming. The Ark contained a hymnal (believed to be from the Catholic school), some broken glass fragments, and still had the original wallpaper. The folks performing the restoration on the County Courthouse came over and took a quick look and have sent info over to the State Historical Commission for assistance on preserving it. Opening of the Ark in the Playhouse was the first step in re-dedicating the structure as a Synagogue. Next Friday the Torah is scheduled to be placed in the Ark. Formal Opening dedication is set for June 13.
  • County Judge Leward LaFleur: Marion County was notified by DSHS that another active case of COVID-19 has now been marked recovered bringing our case count to 5 active and 10 recovered!

  • 2020 Jefferson Dixie Youth Baseball & Softball Season was cancelled and refunds will be being issued: Please keep in mind, that yes we are giving refunds if requested, but it will be minus $20 for the players uniform. We want to take care of our families as well and that’s why we offered a refund of some kind. Other leagues are not giving a choice. Sponsors provide these uniforms for the league, but that money is giving to help us keep cost down and provide us a way to make much needed improvements. Therefor we owe it to them to show that’s what is done! We are very fortunate to have amazing sponsors and we want to continue our process of beautifying the park as we can! **Your coaches will schedule their team meeting to give uniforms & refunds if needed at one time!! Not here and there…please be patient. You will get your money.
  • Cypress Bend Adventist Elementary yearbooks have arrived and are ready for pickup.
