In a press release issued Monday afternoon, Marion County Judge Leward LaFleur said his wife had tested positive for COVID-19, and he would be working from home for the next 10 days.

“In anticipation of this, I fully prepared early on in the pandemic to work from home and will be doing so for the next 10 days out of the abundance of caution,” LaFleur wrote in a press release.

“This morning my wife tested positive for COVID-19. She is doing well and only has minimal symptoms,” he wrote. “I am currently not showing any signs or symptom. Please continue to pray for those affected by this virus and continue to follow CDC guidelines.”

LaFleur was absent from this morning’s Commissioner’s Court meeting to limit possible exposures while his wife was waiting on test results.
