OHTP Sets New Board

Jefferson’s Opera House Theatre Players have elected four new board members. They are Joe Todaro and Lisa Daye of Shreveport and Hollis Shadden and Sara Davis of Jefferson.  They will join board members Marcia Thomas, president; Scott Imhof, Vice President; Dian Beaird, Secretary-Treasurer; as well as Jane Maddox and Evie Mims in operating the community theatre’s 32nd season.

According to board president Thomas, there has seldom been a change in the board membership since its earliest days with some staying as long as 15 and 20 years. “We thought it was about time to offer this opportunity to some of our ardent supporters at this time to help us with continued productions and fund-raisers.  It’s been pretty difficult at times for a board of five to handle it all, but somehow we did”, she said.

Next up is the thespian groups anticipated fund-raiser for the season, “Chocolate Sunday”, which has been scheduled for February 14.  However, due to concerns regarding the current virus pandemic guidelines, the group is still contemplating whether to postpone to a later date or continue with the historical Valentine Day date.  More information will be forthcoming as soon as possible since  there have already been contact from some people out of town wishing to bring entries into the chocolate competition.  When a date and location is decided it will be posted on the theatres website www.JeffersonOperaHouseTheatrePlayers.com.
