Jefferson’s community theatre the Opera House Theatre Players is postponing their only fund-raising event of the year Chocolate Sunday until April.

According to Players president Marcia Thomas, the new and old board  members met recently and discussed the idea of trying to go ahead with the previouslys cheduled and traditional date February 14 but ultimately decided that it was better to be a bit more prudent at this time due to rising cases of the Covid 19 virus in the county.

The group decided that mid-April would be a better time to hold the all-chocolate event where chefs and cooks from far and near ente rthe competition to be chosen “best” of show and the public is invited in for a donation to enjoy the great chocolate creations and the live entertainment that goes with it.

The theatre group plans to try for another production in the coming months perhaps a sequel to the popular Radio Days production seen last year .Also being planned is a production for the July 4th weekend and the annual Ynot Awards dinner usually held in early August.

More information on the theatre productions will be forthcoming as soon as details are completed. President Thomas also advised that a special announcement will be made soon regarding a grand Labor Day weekend event being prepared.
