Last Wednesday, March 10 officers of the Jefferson Police Department were invited to the home of Ms. Jessie Mae Walker for a thank you event. Ms. Walker hosted the event herself and said she wanted to thank the officers for assisting her during the recent winter storm. She served cake and punch. “Ms. Walker was a wonderful host and we’re truly appreciative of the delicious marble cake, ice Cream and pineapple punch provided,” said Jefferson Police Chief Florentino Perez. “While enjoying the desserts, we conversed with Ms. Walker and learned about her family history, teaching career and her love for helping and giving back. Thank you, Ms. Walker, for providing us with a lovely evening and welcoming us into your home.” Pictured here with Walker (sitting left) are (from left) Officer Brett Smith, Sgt. Cynthia Simmons and Investigator Dustin Hayes.
