At its quarterly meeting on March 18, 2021, the Carnegie Library Board elected new officers for the coming year. Tony Jones is the new President, Leah Cooper is the VP. Stacy Mills is the Secretary and Cathey Brannon is the Treasurer. The board also welcomed new board members, Victor Perot and Harold Blair.

The board has tentatively scheduled the reopening of the library for early June with CDC guidelines in place to protect staff and patrons. Children’s programs for the summer are being planned and will be announced to the public very soon.

The board authorized the beginning of the refurbishing of the library to include a new roof, new paint throughout and other upgrades.

Stacy Mills, President of the Friends of the Library, reported on the upcoming Carnegie Friends’ Golf Tournament to be held at Woodhollow Golf Course in Longview on Saturday, March 27 at noon. Persons interested in playing please call the library at 903-665-8911.
