Jefferson’s Gabby Wennerstrom is running in the best known American foot race: the Boston Marathon.
Last year she accomplished a personal dream of qualifying for the race. Now she’s repeating her performance and looking to improve.
She says this year she’s “going for a personal record. With the rain and cold temperatures moving in it will add a different challenge but an exciting one.”
Last year she underestimated the course some due to the hills but is more prepared this time.
“Now that I know the course from last year, and I’ve trained for the hills, I’m ready for the challenge of running faster this year,” she said. “Last year was the first year at full capacity after Covid and you could tell the city was still recovering. This year the city is alive with energy. Excited to be back and make Jefferson proud!”
The race can be watched live starting at 7:30a central time and continue until noon on ESPN. It will also be live streamed on Very Local Boston.
She will be in Wave 3 group starting at 9:50a central time.
