Jefferson Bulldogs turned up and showed their stuff at the 15/16 3A Area track meet at Roughneck Stadium in White Oak.

Overall the Varsity Dawgs finished third with a score of 78 coming in behind White Oak at 79 and West Rusk with 118.

Individually, the Dawgs showed well with the following results, all qualifying for Regionals:

  • 100 meters: first, L. McMullen, 10.21.
  • 200 meters: first, L. McMullen, 21.6
  • 110 hurdles: first, RJ Garrett, 14.22
  • 300 hurdles: first, RJ Garrett, 39.31
  • 400 relay: first, Jefferson (J. Bittle, H. Ector, RJ Garrett, L. McMullen) 43.05
  • Shot put: third, B. Clark, 45-11.50
  • Triple jump: first, RJ Garrett, 42-6

Lady Dawgs finished out the meet with a score of 50, or eighth place. Individually the Lady Dawgs had the following results, all qualifying for Regionals:

  • 100 meters: fourth, R. Williams, 12.46
  • 400 meters: first J. Davidson, Jefferson 1:00.95
  • Shot put: second, A. Blanton, 35-3.50
  • Discus: second,  T. Foster 94-7.50; third, A. Blanton 94-4.25
  • Triple jump: third, J. Ventimiglia, 33-5.752
  • Regional events will start at 9:30a tomorrow at Wildcat Stadium in Whitehouse with RJ Garrett in Triple jump, and Tawny Foster and Adrianna Blanton in Discus.

The Dawgs don’t compete again until a rapid fire series starting at 2:30p with boys in the 400m relay. Representing Jefferson will be J. Bittle, H. Ector, Garrett, and L. McMullen.

Then at 3p with Garrett in 110 hurdles: first, RJ Garrett.

The 100m dash is at 3:15p with McMullen for boys and R. Williams for the girls.

The 400m dash is up next at 3:45p with J. Davidson.

The 300m hurdles will see Garrett for the boys, followed by McMullen in for the 200m at 4:15p

Saturday’s events  start off at 9a with Clark and Blanton hurling the shot put.
