V. Hugh Lewis II/Jefferson Jimplecute

Super Tuesday is March 5 in Texas as registered voters head to the polls for the primary elections.

Polls will be open from 7a-7p at five locations across the County:

  • • Mims VFD, 9902 FM 729
  • • Loneoak Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 120 Watts Rd
  • • Kellyville Senior Citizen’s Building, 130 Kelly Park Rd
  • • Smithland VFD Community Meeting Room, 8247 State Hwy 49 E
  • • Marion County Elections Building, 504 N. Alley Street

On the ballots are candidates in both the Republican and Democratic parties for various National, State, and County offices.

Candidates on the Republican primary election include:

  • • Tim Cariker for County Attorney with Felony Jurisdiction
  • • David Capps for Sheriff
  • • J.R. Ashley for Commissioner Pct. 1
  • • Ralph Meisenheimer and Paul Webb will square off for the Commissioner Pct. 3 seat
  • • Ed Baird for Constable Pct. 1
  • • Jeff Greer for Constable Pct. 2
  • • Hunter Bonner and Kimberly Shaw will vie for County Republican Party Chair
  • • Kori Peterson and Lynnette Bonner will face off for Precinct 1 Party Chair
  • • Jeanne Stiegelmeyer for Republican Precinct 2 Chair
  • • Rosanne Bumgarner for Republican Precinct 3 Chair, 
  • • Ken Tomlinson for Republican Precinct 4 Chair
  • • Zack Baldwin for Republican Precinct 5 Chair
  • • Stella Barrow for Republican Precinct 6 Chair
  • • Merrell Ham for Republican Precinct 7 Chair
  • • Christie Woodson for Republican Precinct 8 Chair
  • • Georgianna Stebbins for Republican Precinct 9 Chair

One must bring a valid photo ID to be able to vote.
