As Jefferson, Texas, ushers in cooler temperatures, a variety of fall festivities are planned to ensure that everyone in the community can enjoy the season. From farm adventures to Halloween fun, there’s something for every age and interest. Here’s a chronological rundown of upcoming events that you won’t want to miss.

Jefferson First Assembly Fall Fest

This local church does festivals right. From 2-4p October 19, they’ll have candy, sno cones, cupcakes, games, prizes, infaltables, a photobooth, and face painting. All in the name of family friendly fun.

Total Farm Fall Fest

October 19, Located at 601 S Polk Street, Total Farm offers a full day of family-friendly activities designed for children aged seven and under. Running Satudays from 10a-3p and Sundays from noon to 3p, the festival includes a hayride, a petting zoo, Lil’ James’ Playground, a hay maze, and a pumpkin patch, perfect for photo ops. Tickets are $10 per person, with kids under two free. A free pumpkin per family is offered with online ticket purchases, and additional charges apply for pumpkins and refreshments.

Lonesome Dove Safari & Fright Train

On the same day, October 19, the Lonesome Dove Drive-Thru Safari & Sanctuary, located at 1782 HWY 59 N, will also host their Fall Fest. From 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, visitors can enjoy the walk-through and petting zoos, vendor booths, and music. For those seeking a spookier experience, return in the evening for the debut of the Fright Train, a Halloween-themed train ride that begins at 7:45 PM. This spooky experience will run until 10 PM, offering scares and thrills under the stars.

Monster Bash  Costume Party

Later on October 19, head over to the Made in the Shade Boutique for the Monster Bash Costume Party from 6 PM to 8 PM. The Shady Ladies of Jefferson will dance in the courtyard while a DJ spins spooky tunes. Costumes are encouraged, and admission requires a $10 donation, benefiting Shriners Hospital in Shreveport. Don’t forget to BYOB!

Shady Ladies’  Witches Dance

On October 25 and 26, the Shady Ladies of Jefferson will perform their popular witches’ dance at Made in the Shade Boutique, located at 220 N Polk Street. Performances will take place at 6:30 PM and again at 7:00 PM. This is a free event, but donations to Shriners Hospital are welcomed. Audience members are invited to dance along and take photos with the witches.

Trunk or Treat on the Bayou

October 26 brings the Trunk or Treat event at the First National Bank parking lot. From 11a-2 p, families can enjoy food, games, and prizes, including a cash prize for the best-decorated trunk. Hot dogs and bottled water will be provided, ensuring a fun and safe Halloween experience for all.

Zoo Boo at Busy B Ranch

Starting every Saturday in October, Busy B Ranch Wildlife Park will host its 3rd annual Zoo Boo event. Visitors can enjoy trick-or-treating through the park’s Drive-Thru Zoo, Walk-Thru Zoo, and Petting Zoo from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20 for kids and $25 for adults, with only 60 spots available each night. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event featuring over 500 exotic animals and lots of nighttime fun.

Lake O’the Pines Baptist Church

Lake O’the Pines Baptist Church, 9046 FM 729 (Across from Dollar General), will hold their Fall Festival from 6-8p Thursday, October 31. The fun includes Chili Cook-Off, cup cake walk, games, prizes, candy, food, drinks. Free fun for the whole family! There will also be a costume – not scary – contest with prices for Best Family, Children Youth, Adults.
