Caddo Lake by Mark Allen: Caddo Lake is about a foot above normal pool. We have a lot of current still going on around the Big Cypress Bayou.  I have also noticed a lot of floating logs, limbs and boards around the lake.  You want to be sure and stay aware of where you are running your boat to hopefully avoid damage to your boat and motor.  Caddo is also fishing good right now and the current has the fish positioned in certain areas around the  Big Cypress Bayou.  When fishing these areas fish a smaller shad imitating bait or a texas rigged worm.  A lot of these fish have been small, but are still fun to catch.  If you are going after quality over quantity, move out to the main lake and fish the vegetation mats.  These mats will consist of several types of vegetation.  When fishing these areas try your swimming frogs, flukes and swim jigs.  If you are wanting to be “coached up” on where and how to catch some of these fish, give me a call. Good luck and enjoy the “one of a kind” Caddo Lake. The Caddo Lake fishing report is provided by Mark Allen’s Guide Service on Caddo Lake.
