Caddo Lake by Mark Allen: Caddo is very low right now and you really need to be careful when you are running the main lake, especially on the Texas side. The good thing is we are having some cooler weather and the bass are just beginning to start getting ready for their fall feeding binge to begin. A good tip right now is to locate some good green hydrilla out on the main lake and the bass along with the shad love to get in and around as we move into fall. My baits of choice for my clients have been the soft plastic jerkbaits. You will want to play with a couple of colors to see which one the bass like best. The two colors i like are watermelon seed and white ice. The vegetation all around the lake is very thick, but these weedless presentations will work in this type of water. Another tip to keep in mind is fishing the boat lanes on the main lake. This gives the bait and bass a great travel corridor to move through and provides a little depth change that the fish like to hang around.
