Our Town Jefferson

Thank you

First giving honor and praise to God. As most of you know I lost my home of over 50 years to a tornado in March.

I’m not the only person—15 families are displaced.

Just to let everyone know we are doing great.

We are living with our daughter Pam until we can rebuild.

I pray for all of the families, and thank God there were no serious injuries. I would like to thank everyone for being so generous.

I’m afraid to name names for fear that I forget someone.

For the people that prayed for our family, thank you; for the people that gave a love offering, thank you; for the people that cooked food and delivered it, thank you; for the people that donated clothes and toys, thank you, (my Alijah is still hugging her new baby); for the friends that walked up to me and placed a donation in my hand, thank you; and for the many friends that donated personal items, thank you.

I was a little down in my spirit Thursday.

Then I attended a benefit fundraiser for Rabbi Linda and the Spearmon family.

I had the most fun.

The love I felt in that room was awesome and yes, for the friends that offered my family a place to stay, I just can’t thank you enough.

Some may say I’m a coward for not naming names, but I just don’t want to forget anyone. I want everyone to know how much I love you.

One name I will mention though, Thank You Matt Yates. You are now a member of the Spearmon family.

—Mary Spearmon
